For SS25, I wanted to tap into the trend of bold, padded uppers. At the same time, I saw an opportunity to re-use the Caldera outsole we designed last season. That became the starting point, and from there I explored three different directions.

The first concept was inspired by a classic Converse style, with a rubber toe cap and a padded upper. Visually it was interesting, but it didn’t feel like Nubikk. It was missing the key design elements that define the brand.

The second idea came closer a padded upper with unique eyelet hooks and shape elements we’ve used in previous models. It started to feel more aligned, but still not quite there.

The third direction which ended up being the final product combined a bold, padded upper with a more traditional eyestay. I incorporated shapes and details that are very much part of the Nubikk identity. With the Caldera outsole as the foundation.
