For the Nubikk AW25 collection, I wanted to design a new luxury athleisure sneaker that has a subtle nod to sportswear but can easily be worn as an everyday shoe. I aimed to bring a lot of layered detailing into the design while exploring new lines within Nubikk’s design DNA.

A nice detail can be found on the toe area, where there is essentially a hidden pattern that becomes visible through the surrounding perforations. The sneaker also offers excellent comfort, and you don’t really need to tie the laces because of the slip-on elastic construction built into the tongue.

My goal for this shoe was to avoid using an overly thick outsole, since soles are trending thinner. However, in collaboration with Extralight, we eventually developed a slightly thicker sole as that still best suited the Nubikk men’s customer at this time.
